Creme Brulee French Toast

Takes a bit of time to make....but worth every minute!

Ingredients

Unsalted butter 1/2 cup
Half and half cream 1 1/2 cups
Brown sugar 1 cup
Vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
Corn syrup 2 tablespoons
French bread slices 6 slices; 1 inch thick
Brandy orange liqueur (Grand Marnier) 1 teaspoon
Salt 1/4 teaspoon

Spend 20 minutes preparing the meal, chill it for 8 hours, and finish it up with 40 minutes of cooking time.

Step 1: Place your butter into a small saucepan and turn the stove to a medium heat. As the butter begins to brown, mix in your corn syrup and brown sugar, make sure to keep stirring until you no longer see the sugar. Pour all the contents into a 9×13 inch baking dish. 

Step 2: Take your slices of french bread, and remove all the crusts. Arrange them in the baking dish in a single layer. Now take a bowl where you will whisk your eggs, vanilla extract, orange brandy, half & half cream and salt. Take the mixture and pour it over the bread. Find something to cover your baking dish, and place it in a refrigerator for 8 hours.

Step 3: Preheat your oven to 350 F, while it is preheating, remove your dish from the refrigerator and allow the dish to come to room temperature. Once the dish is no longer chilled, place it in the oven uncovered for 35-40 minutes.

Tip: Feel free to sprinkle a bit of cinnamon on the dish before placing it in the oven!
