Chicken Marsala

Delicious Chicken Braised in Marsala Wine


All-purpose flour 1/4 cup
Marsala wine 1/2 cup
Butter 4 tablespoons
Mushrooms 1 cup, sliced
Cooking sherry 1/4 cup
Salt 1/2 teaspoon
Olive Oil 4 tablespoons
Chicken breast halves 4, skinless/boneless, pounded 1/4 inch thick
Ground Black Pepper 1/4 teaspoon
Dried oregano 1/2 teaspoon

10 minutes to prepare, 20 minutes to cook, ready in 30 minutes

This classic chicken dish adds marsala wine with fresh mushrooms for a savory, buttery dish. The Italian-style meal can be enjoyed with friends and family and is quite simple to prepare. Fast cook time makes this a great, rich dish that can be enjoyed even on weekdays and around busy schedules.

Step 1: Mix flour, salt, pepper and oregano together in small dish

Step 2: Coat pieces of chicken with the oregano/flour mix you have made so all pieces/sides are fully covered (you may also opt to use a clean plastic bag, placing chicken pieces in individually with mix until covered for easy clean-up)

Step 3: Melt butter and oil using a skillet with medium or high heat settings

Step 4: Add in both the marsala wine and cooking sherry

Step 5: Turn over chicken and add on mushrooms

Step 6: Using a covered skillet, let chicken cook for 5 minutes

Step 7: Turn over all chicken, cook for an additional 5 minutes

Step 8: Ready to serve when chicken has lost any pinkish coloring or hue
