Gluten-Free Mussels

Flavorful Mussels Make The Perfect Dinner or Appetizer!


White wine 3/4 cup
Tomato and Clam Juice Cocktail 3/4 cup
Garlic 3 cloves, peeled and sliced
Butter 3 tablespoons
Red pepper flakes 1/2 teaspoon, crushed
Mussels 1 pound, cleaned and debearded

10 minutes to prepare, 10 minutes to cook, ready in 20 minutes

This dish is light, fresh and has the additional benefit of being gluten-free. At around 200 calories per serving, this makes a light option but still has creamy and flavorful notes, using butter and white wine.

Step 1: Combine wine, garlic, juice and pepper flakes in pot and boil

Step 2: Add mussels to mix

Step 3: Continue boiling for 5 minutes until mussels open

Step 4: Remove mussels, pour off liquid, retaining 1 cup

Step 5: Boil liquid to 3/4 cup

Step 6: Add butter and serve mussels with sauce to top or dip

This recipe is delicious, healthy and filling. A low carb, low calorie and gluten-free option that packs flavorful white wine with fresh garlic. Add lemon if desired.
