This recipe for a traditional creamy alfredo pasta is savory and calls for fresh penne pasta, to be served al dente. Notes of fresh parsley and ground black pepper are complimented with a buttery, creamy sauce. At under 450 calories per serving, this dish is lighter than a traditional sauce, but still remains quite creamy and tasty. Easy to prepare on a budget and schedule!

Step 1: Boil large pot of water, adding small amount of salt

Step 2: Cook pasta for approximately 8 minutes, to be served al dente

Step 3: Melt butter and heavy cream using saucepan, mix and stir

Step 4: Add in  cheese, parsley, salt, pepper and garlic powder and stir

Step 5: Put on fresh cooked pasta and enjoy serving warm

This makes an excellent Italian-style dinner option and can be saved for later as leftovers or for lunch meals. You may opt to top with fresh vegetables, shrimp, or chicken.
