Step 1: Bring large pot of salted water to boil

Step 2: Peel and cook potatoes for about 15 minutes, then drain pot and mash

Step 3: Add egg and flour to bowl with mashed potatoes, knead until dough forms a ball

Step 4: Shape portions of dough into “snakes,” and cut into 1/2 inch pieces over a floured cutting board

Step 5: Bring large pot of salted water to boil again, and cook for 3-5 minutes until gnocchi have risen to the top of pot
