Tomato Cream Sauce With A Spicy Flair!


Penne pasta 1 pound
Sweet Italian sausage 2 (3.5oz) links
Red pepper flakes 1/2 teaspoon, crushed
Extra Virgin Olive oil 1/4 cup
Vodka 2 tablespoons
Garlic 4 cloves, minced
Heavy whipping cream 1/2 cup
Tomatoes 1 28oz can, crushed
Fresh parsley 1/4 cup, chopped

15 minutes to prepare, 30 minutes to cook, ready in 45 minutes

Subtle notes of spice add flavor to a savory dish, and this recipe puts a spin on your typical tomato sauce. Sweet sausage adds additional flavor, but can be supplemented with vegetables or mushrooms if desired.

Step 1: Boil water and cook penne pasta for approximately 8 minutes, to be served al dente

Step 2: Heat oil using medium settings, add sausage after removing casings

Step 3: Cook sausage until brown and evenly cooked through

Step 4: Add in garlic and red pepper flakes, until garlic cooks to brown color

Step 5: Mix in tomatoes and salt, simmer for approximately 15 minutes

Step 6: Add vodka and cream and boil, add in pasta (vodka will cook out and just adds flavor to dish)
