Black Bean Veggie Burgers

A Lunch That Brings Delicious and Nutritious Together!


Beans 1 16 oz can
Onion 1/2, sliced
Garlic 3 cloves, peeled
Green bell pepper 1/2, cut into small pieces
Egg 1
Chili powder 1 tablespoon
Cumin 1 tablespoon
Hot sauce 1 teaspoon
Ground Black Pepper 1/4 teaspoon
Bread crumbs 1/2 cup

15 minutes to prepare, 20 minutes to cook, ready in 35 minutes

This delicious veggie burger recipe yields a meal of less than 200 calories that’s quite savory! It’s unusual to find such a healthy recipe with fresh ingredients that can support a diet as well as a palate!

Step 1: Preheat oven to 375 degrees F

Step 2: Oil baking pan

Step 3: Mix and mash beans together in a bowl, making sure mix blends

Step 4: Use food processor to chop onion, garlic and bell pepper, add into bean mixture

Step 5: Mix and blend egg, chili powder, cumin and hot sauce together in separate bowl

Step 6: Stir this mix into the bean mixture

Step 7: Add in bread crumbs until mixture holds, to ensure burgers stay together

Step 8: Divide and mold into patties (4), cook for approximately 8 minutes, then flip and cook other side for 8 minutes

This healthy and low-calorie option is great for vegetarians and healthy eaters alike. Makes the perfect lunch or dinner option and is delicious, and quite savory. You may opt to make them using a grill instead, in which case you can follow the same steps and simple preheat a grill, use an oiled sheet of foil, and grill for about 8 minutes on both side.
