Sloppy Joes are are a fantastic, fuss-free hearty meal, ideal for lunch, or dinner. If you’re having friends over who you need to feed, rather than impress, this is an ideal solution.
Step 1: Mix the beef and onion in a cold skillet, or any other similarly appropriate cooking pan.
Step 2: Get your skillet on the stove over a medium heat, and cook it until it’s browned.
Step 3: Mix your garlic and bell pepper into the beef in the skillet; allow it to cook until the vegetable are nice and tender.
Step 4: Add 1 cup of the water, stir that in, then stir in the ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
Step 5: Add the second cup of water, and allow your mixture to come to a simmer – it should be smelling really good by now!
Step 6: Lower the heat, and keep cooking it until it becomes thick and sludgy.
Step 7: Finally, season it as you need to with the salt, ground black pepper, and cayenne pepper
That’s a pretty painless meal to prepare and cook. Obviously, you can put these on burger buns, but realistically, you can put this on any kind of bread you like.
