Review: EveryPlate (#1 Value Meal Kit Plan?)
Out of all the meal delivery subscription service kits we have tested, EveryPlate not only seems to score highest on flexibility and ease of scheduling, it also seems to score highest on pricing and value.
In fact, without the need for any specific coupons or codes, $10 off your first 3 orders are immediately applied to your account, and dishes range from just $3.99-$4.16 per serving (in other words, the cost of a couple of produce items or a can of soup). Students are also eligible for even more savings.
The idea behind the company is to bring convenience and quality food to everyone, even if you are trying to save and working around a budget, making EveryPlate a fairly transparent company to support and family-friendly.
If you are looking for convenience in conjunction with good fair pricing structures, EveryPlate seems to take the top of the list, while still offering a wide variety of menu options that are always fresh and easy to prepare. You also don’t have to be a wiz in the kitchen to whip them up, and they come with easy to follow directions in every box.
While sign up is easy and the food is incredibly fresh with an always rotating and chef-prepared menu (the quality, despite pricing, is truly great and definitely comparable to more expensive plans), the only downside is this is likely not the best option if you are seeking a very specific diet.
It does not cater to vegetarians or those with specific dietary restrictions at this time.
You can also select your meals from a list of options beforehand so you know what you will receive in every upcoming EveryPlate box, and while very affordable, they are still all fresh and home cooked style meals.
So how does EveryPlate stack up in comparison to competitors and how is the food?
We reviewed to find out more.
EveryPlate: Menu and Meal Options
Weekly plan meal options are diverse and with options always changing and the ability to view upcoming plans, it makes it easy to both structure meals out throughout the month for yourself and/or family, or skip plans you may not be interested in.
Dishes include Skillet Pie with fresh Green Pepper and Jalapeno, Honey Glazed Chicken with Chipotle Mashed Sweet Potatoes and Zucchini, Chicken Sausage Linguine with fresh Chili Oil, Lemony Chicken and Orzo Soup with Fresh Dill, and Herb Butter Steak with Broccoli and Cheesy Roasted Potatoes.
Other delicious plates include Party Thyme Steak with Garlic Ciabatta and Roasted Green Beans, Creamy Mushroom Linguine with Garlicky BreadCrumbs, Spicy Honey Butter Chicken with Zucchini and Roasted Sweet Potatoes, and Vietnamese Steak Bowls with Carrot, Pickled Cucumber, and Sriracha Mayo.
While cuisine options can be limited if you are looking for a very specific diet option plan or sticking to a gluten-free or vegan style meal option service, they are perfect for those looking for simple to prepare yet delicious meals that come with all of the added perks and benefits of a regular meal delivery subscription service, and are just as delicious, but are priced lower than any other option we have tried.
EveryPlate: Pricing Plans and Structure
EveryPlate works well if you are looking for a meal delivery subscription service on a budget, whether you are a single (you can turn servings into both lunch and dinner choices), a couple, or looking to feed a family.
Dinners for 2 come with 3 recipes per week with 2 servings per recipe, and are priced at only $3.33 per serving (with free shipping for the first 3 weeks). Bear in mind, this includes a $10 off coupon which is automatically applied to the service on your account- and this applies for the first 3 weeks of delivery. So the plan would normally be $4.99 per serving.
If you’re a couple, this plan works perfectly for dinner options. If you are single, you can easily turn this into a savings plan for easy to make lunches and dinners that still stay fresh.
Dinners for 4 come with 3 recipes per week with 4 servings per recipe, and are priced at $4.16 per serving. Again, this comes with the same $10 off coupon code applied for the first week and two thereafter, so it usually comes to $4.99 per serving.
While there are ship fees included in the service after your first three weeks, the EveryPlate plan still works out to be significantly less costly than any other meal kit service we have tested, even those that offer free shipping with lower cost options and discount plans.
EveryPlate: Mission and Company
EveryPlate’s Mission is to bring quality and affordable dishes along with the standard convenience factor to everyone, including those who may not normally be able to afford the service, including students and families working around budgets.
The meals are still all prepared fresh and delivered to your door insulated and ready to prepare with easy to follow instructions, and none of them are frozen or microwave style meals.
In terms of taste, they are easily comparable to a lot of pricier options and the menu options are full of variety and always changing on a week to week basis.
The only downsides to EveryPlate are the limitations for those working around specific diets, as although there are some vegetarian options, they are very limited, and if you are in search of a specific Paleo or Gluten-free style meal service, this likely is not the best fit.
With that in mind, the standards for fresh meals are superb especially given the value of the service, with trustworthy suppliers, fresh produce, and high-quality meals designed to suit even the pickiest of eaters.
It’s also nice to see a service that caters to students and those who may be used to eating packaged foods or less healthy options due to budget constraints, as there aren’t many other services on the market that can offer both convenience right to your door along with plans that are affordable to a wider audience.
The best bonus and brownie points? The meals can actually be prepared in 30 minutes or less as advertised, unlike some other services we have tried that tend to have some wiggle room with prep timing.
EveryPlate is a winner for us in terms of pricing, quality, prep time, and variety of options.

Throughout the years of placing recipes on MFS, I’ve noticed an uptick in the number of “subscription boxes” for the cooking/food market. It was then that I decided to also include my own personal review of these subscriptions on MFS.
