Classic Macaroni Salad

A Grill or Party Side-Dish


Pimento peppers 2 tablespoons
Green bell pepper 1, chopped
Celery 2 stalks, chopped
Onion 1, chopped
Elbow Macaroni 4 cups
White sugar 2/3 cup
Mayonnaise 1 cup
Salt 1 1/2 teaspoons
Ground black pepper 1/2 teaspoon
Distilled white vinegar 1/4 cup
Yellow or dijon mustard 2 1/2 tablespoons

20 minutes to prepare, 10 minutes to cook, ready in 4 hours and 30 minutes

This fun party side makes a great addition to any Labor Day event or party. Bring it to a cookout, potluck, or picnic and prepare for compliments! The recipe calls for a perfect and traditional serving of an already classic dish that pairs well with burgers, salads, and hotdogs!

Step 1: Add macaroni to large pot of boiling water, cook for approximately 8 minutes

Step 2: Mix and blend together vinegar, mayonnaise, sugar, salt, mustard and pepper

Step 3: Add in macaroni and stir

Step 4: Add in green pepper, pimentos, onion and celery, stir

Step 5: Add to fridge overnight or for several hours

Step 6: Serve cold, top with salt and pepper as desired

Savory, creamy, and best served cold! The addition of spices can suit personal preferences and add more spicy flair, if desired. Recipe is best served with fresh ground pepper to top after it’s chilled. This is fun Labor Day favorite!
