Green Chef: Meal Options and Plans
Green Chef takes into account all different types of diets and preferences, so you can select a 2 person plan with 3 dinners per week (6 total), or a family plan of 2 dinners for a family of 4 per week. Most 2-person meals are ready to make in 30 minutes, and most family meals are ready to make in 30-45 minutes.
Here is a look at all of the meal plans available:
If you’re a fan of the keto diet or looking to try it out, Green chef takes the hassle out of the process and makes it delicious at the same time. Dishes on the menu include Creamy Stuffed Chicken with sunflower seeds and kale, Blackened Shrimp and “Grits” with lemon-chive vinaigrette, Malaysian Spiced Pork Patties with ginger-lime sauce and pickled onions, and Paprika-Orange Pork Chops with lemon-basil caper sauce.
This is a great option if you’re confused about the plan (which can be tough especially starting out) and looking to not only ensure you’re doing it correctly, but with ease, convenience, and taste all at the same time.
The Paleo menu excludes all grains, legumes, and dairy options if you’re trying out this plan or already a fan of the diet. Fresh meal options include Green Chicken Sausage Patties with Greek Seasoning and Mediterranean flavors, Shrimp with Ginger-Lime Coconut Sauce marinated in 5 different Asian-style spices, Merguez- Spiced Steaks seasoned with Paprika, Cumin and Fennel, and Pork with Lemon- Parsley Caper Sauce with mashed roast sweet potatoes.
Delicious seasonings, fresh spices, and healthy dressings are included with every helping.
The omnivore plan is the most popular and offers a diverse and always evolving meal plan of seafood, meat, and vegetarian dinners.
Green chef omnivore dishes include Sesame Beef Tacos with long-grain rice and edamame, Lemon Mustard Chicken with roasted garlic potatoes, green peas, and red peppers, Salmon with Red Pepper Sauce, Butternut Rice Squash Chili with Black Beans, cheddar, and lime crema, Salmon with Red Pepper Sauce and tomato puttanesca and Dukkah-Spiced Pork Chops with chard and couscous salad with dates.
If you are already a vegan or thinking or becoming a vegan, Green Chef makes it easy to start a new plan or stick to your existing one, and the dish options are also delicious. Menu options include Corn Pesto Flatbreads with apples and fresh kale salad, Mushroom and Veggie Tacos with pinto beans and roasted red peppers, Moroccan carrots with rice and cashew crema, Mustard-Roasted Tofu with sweet potato fries, slaw and cranberries, and Black-eyed Pea Veggie Balls with tangy corn vegetables.
This is a delicious way to get into the vegan diet if you are actively trying, or continue to enjoy it freshly served to your door if you already are vegan. All dishes come with fresh vegan spices, are easy to prepare and fresh, and actually taste good.
If you are not fully vegan but enjoy the vegetarian lifestyle, there are some delicious and healthy Green Harvest options to pick from that include dairy products but completely exclude any meats, seafood, or pork options. Like the other options, they are all fresh and delicious and options are always evolving so you never get bored.
Some meal choices include Creamy Artichoke and Kale Penne with Zesty parsley and parmesan crostini, Tamari Tofu Noodle Bowls, and Mango and Veggie Stir Fry with Mushrooms, ginger, rice, and slaw.
If you are allergic or sensitive to gluten, Green Chef makes it both easy and very tasty to still enjoy meals with convenience and without the added stress or hassle of having to worry about asking about every dish while dining out and checking every label at the grocery store.
Dishes (always rotating) include Lemon-Mustard Chicken, Salmon with Red Pepper Sauce, Tofu Noodle Bowls with peanut sauce, Spiced Steak Chile with feta and peanuts, and Pork with caper sauce and roasted red beets and fresh bell peppers.
If you are a pescatarian and looking to get protein through seafood sources but would like options that include a lot of fresh veggies without any pork or red meat food sources.
Some meal plan options include Herb-Seasoned Cod Fillets with creamy potato salad, Japanese Vegetable Fritters, Cauliflower with Romesco Sauce and toasted Hazelnuts, Barrramundi with Chimichurri, and Chickpea Salad Sandwiches with curry- spiced carrot fries and chives.
It’s also important to note that if you have any food allergies (say to nuts or a specific ingredient, Green Chef will always work with you in tailoring a plan around you or your families specific needs).
Green Chef: Pricing Structures and Options
Green Chef’s 2-person plan starts at $11.99 per meal for 3 dinner dishes for 2 people delivered weekly (6 meals total), and the family plan starts at $10.99 per meal for 2 dinners for a family of 4 per week. All plan meals are easy to make in 30-45 minutes (with family plans on the longer end), but it’s important to note family options are available in omnivore and carnivore selections only. However, with the omnivore plan you can select vegetarian options.
Green chef currently has a $50 off coupon for first time customer available for all plans, and you can also skip weeks or cancel the plan.
It’s also important to note there are slight changes in price depending on what plan you select, with Vegetarian, $10.49; Omnivore, $11.99; Carnivore, $13.49; Gluten-free, $13.49; and Paleo kits coming in at $14.99. There is also a $9 per box fee.
While this is on the pricier end of the spectrum in terms of other meal delivery service kits, it’s important to note that in comparison to taste and quality of ingredients and store (grocery purchases), the difference is incredibly small.
In fact, with the added convenience factor, the price margin becomes about equal.
Green Chef: Our Final Verdict
Green Chef has to score as one of the highest meal plan delivery services we’ve reviewed, with the most options available, the best tastes and customized boxes, and the most freshly prepared spices, seasonings, and fresh dressings.
With options that are always changing and such a variety of menus to select from, you can’t go wrong even if you are the pickiest eater.
In terms of nutritional intake, most plans have meals *dinner dishes* that are at (or less than) 650 calories each and the most included vegetables, with up to almost 5 cups per serving, in comparison to competitors.
Green chef also scores extremely high in terms of gourmet options, international-type cuisines, and meals that are quick and easy to prepare.
On top of all of this, while always delivered insulated and perfectly fresh inside an eco-friendly box to your door, every single plan is USDA-certified organic and non-GMO. All meals come with recipe cards, sorting ingredients can be done with ease, and this is likely the best meal delivery service option for you if you want a specific plan fit to your needs without any flavor sacrifice.
