Purple Carrot seems to be revolutionizing the way we think about plant-based eating and healthy meal delivery service options. Also, that vegan food can actually be really delicious and easy to prepare!
Whether you’re currently a vegan or thinking of starting a new vegan diet yourself or for your whole family, a meal kit plan can make the process a lot easier and save on time, confusion, and convenience.
It can also be difficult to select from different options at grocery stores, or while dining out if you are practicing a vegan diet, but with Purple Carrot, there are so many different options to select from it makes the process really simple.
Not only are the meals easy and fast to whip up, they actually taste good. And for many of us, especially newcomers to the vegan “lifestyle,” that’s the main problem. We have problems in finding healthy choices that are easy to make, that the family will enjoy, and that will actually taste good.
Purple Carrot’s philosophy is based on plant-based diets lowering the risks of chronic health conditions, improving chronic disease, and improving the environment and animal welfare.
While the choice is a very personal one, if you’re a fan of convenience and ease in vegan based meal plan options, Purple Carrot leads the pack, and recipes change every week.
Purple Carrot Meal Plan Options and Menu
Purple Carrot has 3 main meal plans to pick from, all based on your specific needs, how many people you want to feed, and what you may be looking for (or if you are currently strictly vegan or looking to start out on a new plan).
All plans are based around selecting 3 main dinner options and then adding on sides of your choice, like breakfasts and lunches.
With the Quick and Easy Plan, all meals are ready to make in 30 minutes or less, so it’s perfect if you or your family are new to vegan eating or if you are on a busy schedule with work or the family and looking to save on time (or both).
The meals are still fresh and delicious, with dinner options to pick from like Soba Noodles with Charred Scallion Miso Broth & Plantains, Crispy Quinoa Cakes with Red Pepper Artichoke Antipasto & Ranch Dressing, Snap Pea Kale Caesar, and Coconut Detox Tofu Bowls with Broccoli & Cilantro Jalapeño Dressing.
The Avocado Quesadillas with Roasted Red Peppers with Refried Red Lentils and Lime Crema are also a Purple Carrot favorite that make a great lunch or dinner option.
But since meals change every week, you’ll never get bored with options.
If you’re looking for an energy boost and have moderate cooking skills, Purple Carrot’s High Protein option may be a good choice for you. With fresh seasonal ingredients and 20 grams of protein per meal (based in tempeh, spinach, kidney beans, and quinoa), all of the meals come with easy instructions and are nutritional and delicious.
Some options for dinner include the Black Bean Burger Crunch Wraps, Tempeh Vegetable Korma with Basmati Rice & Mango Chutney and Stuffed Sweet Potatoes with Crispy Chickpeas & Scallion Cashew Cheese (both gluten-free).
Purple Carrot’s Chef’s Choice Plan is good if you have easy-moderate cooking skills and enjoy trying out different gourmet-style dishes and International cuisines. Ingredients are heavily based in mango, basil, kimchi, artichoke, and tempeh. Featured dishes are always changing but meal options include hearty and protein-rich dishes like Basque Potato Soup with Hearts of Palm & Rouille Crostini, and Gnocchi Primavera.
There is also a TB Performance Plan Meal Option designed for active individuals, based around the same vegan options, with higher protein and calorie levels per meal, that costs around $13 per meal. This is great for athletes or if you’re always on the go, and all meals are gluten-free and low in soy.
Purple Carrot: How It Works & Pricing Structures
All of the three Purple Carrot Meal Plan Menu Options are $72 per week, for 3 dinners that serve 2 people each, which comes to $12 per plate. You receive $25 off your first box, so trying it once only totals to $47.
The only drawback is you can only order deliveries in servings of two, but bear in mind you can skip and select orders.
From there, you can add on different extras at varying price points, and each lunch and breakfast meal is designed to prep and make in 5 minutes or less.
With every menu option, you can customize your meal plans, skip deliveries if desired, cancel if desired, and shipping is always free to anywhere within the U.S.
This is actually, out of all the food delivery service companies we have reviewed, one of the easiest to cancel with if desired, so if you don’t like you’re subscription or are just trying out a vegan diet, this may help assuage your fears if you’ve had negative experiences with other companies.
Purple Carrot: Worth It?
If you’re looking for a vegan-friendly meal delivery service option, Purple Carrot has plenty of options to pick from that are always changing, and a great starter plan for beginners with meals that are both easy to whip up and all of the meals are organic and fresh.
Purple Carrot makes it easy and convenient to save on time and find ways to enjoy plant-based 100% organic (and gluten-free) meals without having to spend hours at the grocery store looking at labels or trying to figure out options dining out.
While healthy and packed with protein, the meals are always filling and tasty.
They also make it easy for both beginners and those who already enjoy vegan diets to enjoy a variety of dishes hassle-free, with options that are great whether you’re looking for something to whip up in 20 minutes, or a more moderate dish with International flair.

Throughout the years of placing recipes on MFS, I’ve noticed an uptick in the number of “subscription boxes” for the cooking/food market. It was then that I decided to also include my own personal review of these subscriptions on MFS.
