Review: Sakara (The Meal Kit Victoria’s Secret Models Turn To?)
Sakara is perhaps the most “high-end,” for lack of a better term, meal delivery service kit and plan we have reviewed and tested out yet. Favored by models and celebrities alike, the plan is all natural, completely vegan, and plant-based.
While Sakara’s daily meal plan is pre-set by the company, it screens for any potential allergens, and provides you with food for the day- it comes with a breakfast, lunch, dinner, morning and night waters, and a daily detox tea. It’s a nutrient and light meal plan based in only the healthiest options and finest foods, plus detox teas, without being any type of juice cleanse or detox specific plan.
The Sakaka plan focuses more on nutrition than it does calories, all of the food is sourced from trusted farmers and suppliers to provide the highest quality superfoods and and fresh produce, and even comes with support from certified health coaches.
All food is non-GMO, free of any dairy, gluten-free, and contains no refined sugar as an added bonus. The plan claims it can help increase focus, shed pounds and water weight, improve skin quality, boost immunity, and improve energy levels naturally throughout the day.
The only downside to this seemingly picture-perfect meal kit plan? Sakara comes with quite a hefty price sticker. Depending on the plan you pick, you’re looking at $239 for 3 days or $349 for 5 days of full meals (with the signature plan).
Sakara is by far the priciest meal kit service we have reviewed yet, however if you’re looking to splurge on the best of the best and indulge a la Lily Aldridge, this is a fun plan to at least try out, and there’s no doubt it will leave you feeling at the top of your game and pampered along the way.
So is Sakara worth it for it’s price or simply indulgent?
We reviewed the plan and menu options along with their signature “clean boutique” that takes luxury to a whole new level.
Sakara: Food and Menu Options
Sakara’s Menu is updated daily (and while it is preselected, you can inform them of any likes or preferences, and certainly any allergies to avoid any potential reactions).
Some meals include Rose Petal Pancakes served with a sweet peach butter cream, Youth and Beauty Salad (a sakara classic topped with pomegranate, hydrating vegetables, seed mix, superfood dressing), Thai Burgers (sweet potato based burger w/ rainbow slaw + roasted root fries, and Chia Pumpkin Bread (paired with a decadent cacao creme).
There are also superfood based classic chopped salads, Smoothie Bowls (with pitaya + strawberries + banana + creamy coconut yogurt), Beauty Blend Salads (with cacao-crusted avocado, berries, seasonal veggies, and superfood green dressing), Sunshine Curry Bowls (with purple coconut sticky rice, purple potatoes, seasonal veggies, and warming curry).
Everything on the menu is nothing short of the healthiest and freshest blends of plant-based foods available, and while the carb and calorie counts are low, the flavors are rich, the menu offerings are delicious, and the meals are all high in protein to keep you feeling full.
You can filter by both day and week to view menu options, so if you are not a fan of any of the already delicious options pictured, you may enjoy Raspberry Tea Cake with french lemon custard, Savannah Ginger Almond Noodles (with protein-rich black bean noodles + savory almond butter ginger sauce), or Sakara’s signature Mojo Bowl (with cilantro rice, pulled jackfruit and juicy pineapple salsa).
Sakara: Meal Programs and Pricing Structure
Sakara offers a few different programs based on your individual needs, and to put it in the best and most accurate terms, none of them are inexpensive. But for the cleanest and most organic food options on the market with the added convenience of fresh daily delivery first thing in the morning right to your door.
Sakara’s Signature (Level 1) Plan includes daily detox teas to optimize health and minimize bloat, guidance and support on demand from certified nutrition coaches, and fresh organic daily breakfast, lunch and dinner. This option will run you $239 for 3 days or $349 for 5 days of complete daily meals plus daily detox teas.
If you’re interested in Sakara’s Level 2 Detox Plan you reserve a waiting spot in advance (which typically takes about a week or so), then sign up. This plan is a detox of either 5 or 10 days featuring 3 whole food meals per day, medicinal broths, Sakara digestive teas, probiotic beverages, Sakara Beauty + Detox Water Concentrates, medical-grade supplements and a dry brush. The 10 day plan features 5 days of the signature menu, followed by 5 days of the same whole foods meals, broths, digestive teas, concentrates, supplements, and brush. The 5 day plan will run you $400, and the 10 day option will run you $749.
The Bridal special plan includes 20 days (much like the signature menu), complete with breakfast, lunch, and dinner options along with daily detox days and will run you (hold your breath) at $1395. At least this is a small price to pay in comparison to other associated bridal fees, and a special treat for the well-deserved time if desired.
If you’re looking for a lower cost option by comparison, you may want to try Sakara’s 10-Day Reset DIY Box. The set comes complete with 20 detox sachets, 10 daily probiotic blends, detox and beauty water concentrates, 11 detox and energy bars, 10 life source sachets, and 10-day reset recipes you can try preparing on your own via less pricey means. This will run you $195 at a one time cost.
Sakara: Clean Boutique
Sakara’s Clean Boutique features everything from dark chocolate granola, to chocolate flavored probiotics, digestive teas, super powders, detox bars, and beauty chocolates.
Beauty Water Concentrates, other teas, and the 10-day reset kit is also available (if you’d like to try it out in addition to a plan.
While extremely luxurious, we have to sort of question……. beauty chocolates? No judgment, we just wish we could afford it. If you can, this is definitely a luxury experience in meal delivery kit add-ons not to be missed out on.
Sakara: Worth It Winner?
While Sakara certainly does not come cheap, this is one service we can all appreciate for a specific type of luxury experience with organic, clean, and only the healthiest food options designed to not only help with the weight loss process- but improve overall mental focus, clarity, energy levels, and even improve the appearance of your skin.
This is also the only plan we’ve tested out that comes with daily delivery bags (with freshly prepared breakfast, lunch, dinner, and detox teas).
This is definitely a plan for those seeking out a luxury plant-based vegan diet meal kit with potential add-ons and those who are unafraid of potential budgetary constraints. With that in mind, sometimes indulging in a treat (especially for special occasions like the bridal option), if if comes in the form of the freshest food possible that feeds the body and soul at once and makes you feel at your best- which it did for us in comparison with every other service we have tested thus far- is one of the best splurges in self-care.
And with that said, for low-calorie vegan food that expedites weight loss and improves everything down to skincare, the menu options are just as delicious as they are physically attractive (as you can see from the photos).
